Perfection is a point or a mark which is reached in a race. I love the rendering of Hebrews 6 vs. 1-2: "Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrines of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of ressurection of the dead, and of eternal judgement." Remember what Paul said in Phil. 3? Here, Paul is trying to make his stance known to the Hebrews. In Philippians, he tried to say he was not yet perfect but that he was moving towards perfection. Now inspired after making a deposit in himself, he's trying to challenge them towards a cause. He's impacting them with eternal realities. He said, "......not laying the foundation again of repentance from dead works...." That means the foundation had been laid before. It was time for them to build on that foundation.

     Some Christians enjoy living in mediocrity. That is not God's plan for them, yet they live their lives that way. I have made this deposit in myself. And now, I am inspiring you to get a hold of the reality of this gracious words. Brother/Sister, you can be perfect. This is why I encourage you to join any T.B.F. centre close to you and run with this divine vision. Habakkuk 2 vs.2 (Amp.): "And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by."


Considering Philippians 3 more closely........The apostle Paul passes a very important message across to us by the way of telling of his own personal experience as well as his hope as regards to the future. Recurrently, he uses the words, 'Apprehend' and 'Attain.' In that scripture, those two words mean the same thing. In fact, the same word is used for them in the Greek. The word used is 'Katalambano.' In one sense, Katalambano means, to catch, to obtain, to attain, to appropriate. In another sense it means, to take possession of, to lay hold of. It is a phenomenon which relates to the possibility of Christ having, by His holy power, control over the human mind and will in such a way that He can prompt, guard and govern it.
Hence, what the apostle means by, '......if that I may apprehend.......' is that he had not yet totally obtained or appropriated or attained the reason why he was called of God and that he would love to do so. On the other hand, considering the other part of the statement- '.......that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus....,' the apsotle (using the word Katalambano again), tells us that Christ had taken possession of him, that Christ had laid hold of him and that his mind was being controlled, governed and directed by Christ. This means, he (Paul) knew that for him to get there, it would take a total surrender to Christ.............
